William Hoffman Principal
William Hoffman, a New Jersey native, felt a call of God on his life for ministry while in high school Upon graduation, he attended a Christian college and completed his Bachelor’s degree in General Ministry. In 2009, after a ministry job layoff, he found a passion for education while working as a substitute teacher which led him to enter permanent positions in education while returning to school to pursue educational degrees. Having worked in education since 2009, Mr. Hoffman has combined his heart for ministry and education and has taught in both private and public schools. He brings real world experience and real life application to help students and staff be successful spiritually and academically. Mr. Hoffman and his wife, Sarah, married in 2006 and have 4 sons.

Sarah Hoffman, a born and raised Texan, has worked in church administration and school support for most of her adult life except years she stayed home with her young sons. God has gifted her with a gift of administration, and she is proud to serve at Brown County Christian School as our school administrator and brings a heart for ministry into her work She also works as a financial coach helping people learn to manage and serve God with their finances. Sarah is the mother of 4 boys and has been married to her husband, William, since 2006.

Along with teaching, Mr. Layton assists with various administrative tasks related to Dual Credit, IT, online courses, Accelerated Reader, RenWeb, Scienteer, and Yearbook production.

He is passionately dedicated to seeing students develop a firm relationship with the Lord through learning academic content, praying, declaring God’s Word, worshiping God, and living by faith in action.

Ruth Burns 2nd & 3rd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Burns considers teaching children a privilege and relates that the Lord called her to teach after she raised four children.

Some of the greatest moments that she enjoys are watching students becoming successful spiritually and academically. Mrs. Burns says that she learns and grows each year from new educational experiences and from the students.

Mrs. Kimmie brings global awareness to her students.  She is passionate about cultures along with the way boys and girls respond and relate to the world around them though educational experiences.

Mrs. Kimmie is a wife of 36 years to Truett, a mom to six kids, which includes VLA graduates and current students. She is also a proud grandmother.

Rachel Wunderle

Ms. Wunderle has been in music for 21 years and played clarinet, which is her main instrument, for 20.  She’s also had piano and vocal training throughout the years.   She made All Region Band 5 times and went on to All State twice for her performance in clarinet.  Ms. Wunderle has taught vocal lessons for four years before moving to Texas and now plays in the Brownwood Community Band.
